Forms, note-taking and signatures

• Find out how the person wants to sign a document such as an X, a stamp, a thumb-print, or assistance from an individual that they have approved. Depending on the situation, you may want to negotiate a formal arrangement for signatures with the individual.
• Ask if the person wants you to take notes for them, write down instructions or an appointment date. Some people may prefer you to use the audio feature for this on their smart phone.
• Ask if the person would like you to assist them in completing a paper form.
• Make your electronic forms easy to complete by allowing spell checker, dictionary and predictive text and the option to take breaks without losing everything and having to start again.
